Flash Fiction #1
Vivi Morris did not like people who thought they were funny, who made up jokes that people would carry around the school. A kid who did this was named John Clever. He was cocky and intrusive and did not care for school. He sat in the back and bother Vivi all the time. He would joke and pull pranks but was never serious. One day he came to school different. Sad in a sense. He sat in the back as always. But did not throw things at her or make jokes about her blonde curls. He just sat there, quiet as a mouse. After class, Vivi went and ask him if he was okay. He said it was nothing and moved on. She began getting worried about him and followed him. He went to the back of the school and went out the doors and just sat in the corner of the school in the cold.

Vivi walked out and said

"I'm serious what is wrong?"

John started to cry. The toughest guy in school was crying right in front of her. A part of her felt bad but another part of her wished she had a camera.

" I went too far, Lisa is being home schooled because a joke a made up about her spread around the school, she lost on her friends and her parents out of school because it was so bad, I should have thought about it before I said, I hurt people. I don't mean too, but I do."

Vivi did not say a thing went over sat beside him on the cold, hard ground, put her arm around him and said.

"It is never to too late to apologize"

Reflection

The significance of this story is things can go too far. Jokes are funny of course but they can also hurt people. Lisa was getting made fun of so bad she had to be pulled out of the school. The story relates to my quotes because one of them was " A joke is a very serious thing" -Winston Churchill. John took the joke too far. And he realized after that people can take a joke seriously especially when the jokes about you.
