1. What is the purpose of your poem? What mood, message or point are you trying to make?
the purpose of my poem was the get across the the character, Caitlyn, as alot the deal with at the moment, such as her friend,Bill (who is a girl) is an achoholic. Her dad drinks and is depressed because his wife (her mom) died 10 years ago. and her friend Jamie tried to rape her. As well she just saw a guy walking down the street that she's now in love with. She is stressed out and needs a break from life.

Blog 7-Significant Charateristics- Chosen to Die
It is really hard to pick just two in this book because were are so many significant characteristics in this book, (just like the last one). But if I had to pick two...
"The Jeep shuddered and she realized what was happening. In the middle of the friggin' blizzard someone was taking potshots at her vechicle."
To understand why this is significant I have to give a little back story, Regan Pescoli is a detective and has been working on the "star crossed killer" case for 2 months. She is driving to pick up her children from their father when her car spins out of control and she realizes this isn't just bad weather, this is the work of the Star crossed killer.
This qoute is significant to the story because this is the moment when she realizes that she isn't the dectective, she's the victim. And she shortly going to encounter the star crossed killer herself, whom she's been look for, for the past 2 months. This is really where the plot begins and it pulls you in to read more.
" 'Long!' I yell and his eyes fly open. In a split second he recognizes me and forgets about the song. 'What the hell?' but he knows, he starts to move from the chair. Too late! I pull the trigger"
For the whole story the reader has learned the way the star crossed killer kills women, ( and only women). He is an organized killer and kills the women for a purpose and does it the exact same way each time. But this is a turning point in the plot when we realize this killer has more then just a problem with women. Which makes this significant to the story. It endeers the reader and makes them want to know why the killer, killed Brady Long...

blog #6- Chosen to Die - Cuts to a book
If I had to cut some parts in my book for the movie. I would cut most of the thoughts of the characters. Plus maybe a few characters that don't have a good attachment to the plot. This would give it more time to focus on the main characters. These cuts probably wouldn't effect the narrative or the storytelling of the movie because a lot of the stuff i would be taking out is just fluff that makes the book longer and adds details not needed.

Blog #5- Nineteen minutes - Suspense
A suspensiful moment in my book is when the dective is called to the scene of a school shooting and goes into the school to find the person shooting. He goes into the locker room where the gunman has just killed 2 more people, he hears footsteps but doesn't know where there coming from. He turns around to a gun pointed at him...
The mood is very eery and you are antisapating the end and want to know what is going to happen. Is the shooter going to kill the dectieve? How many people as has killed? The setting is in a dark, creepy high school change room. Dead bodies around. You can almost imagine the creepy music.
This book goes back in time alot and skips around. its just enough to give foreshadowing in the book and not make you feel confused. Right after the gun is point to him, the next chapter is going back to when he was young to help enhance our knowledge about the character.

Nineteen minutes- Blog #4 Point of view
My book is from the point of view of the narrator. I believe the author chose this kind of point of view because there are so many characters. In total there are probabely 20 characters I've been introduced too. It would be confusing to have to read all those options at the same time. I think it works the thoe storys advantage with a 3rd person point of view. You get to see things from the outside and not in peoples minds which sometimes works out better because then you don't adapt the charcters thoughts and instead make up your own about whats going on. I would not change to point of view, it works for the mood, characters and book in itself.

Nineteen Minutes-#3 - character traits
Alex is a new judge on a the supreme court. She is one of the main characters. One trait she has is seriousness. Of course you have to be serious in the courtroom. But with her daughter she lacks in the emotional relationship department.
She's a hopeless romantic, She got pregnant by a married man and thought he loved her. Which he didnt and wanted her to get rid of the baby. She was going to get rid of her baby for the guy until her friend convinced her not too.
She is also very cautious. She doesn't do anything without thinking first. For example, it took her along time to decide to apply for her supreme judge position. She makes it known shes going to take as much time as she needs to make the right decision.

Blog #2- Nineteen Minutes - Stock Characters
One stock Character is Gunther off of Friends. He is seen as gay, with his dyed bleach blonde hair and brightly coloured clothing. Whenever the "Friends" talk to him there is an covered up gay joke in the scene. Later on in the series, Rachel says "I'm sure you'll make some guy happy someday". He is seen all through the series but we don't really get to know him yet people think they know him and who he is just because the "friends" think he is gay.

Blog #1-Nineteen Minutes (Mood, setting and Characters)
When I opened this book the first sentence stated "by the time you read this, I hope to be dead", which for me, created a Eyre mood. I wanted to know who was dead and why. It crtainly pulled me in to read more.
"She sighed and peered down the block to see weather she could make out her mom's green explorer from the conga line of passing cars. and just about then. something exploded"
the mood that line created was a sense of shock and surprise. You weren't expecting an explosion at that point. You want to know where the explosion came from and why.
"He'd see sprays of blood, and students crumpled on the ground, and he did not let himself look twice". The mood created there was suspensful. This detivive is running around a school full of dead bodies on the ground and is probabley scared for not only his life but more students getting hurt or killed.
In the small town of Sterling, New Hamshire, nothing ever happens. I am introduced to serveral different characters in the first chapter. Alex, a new judge to the surprime court. She hardly has time for her daughter, Josie. Who is having some trouble finding herself in High school. She is appart of the popular group but knows that isn't who she really is. Patrick is the town's top detective, he's never really had a big case and goes back and forth on the weekend to Maine to see his one love that he knows will never love him back and his god daughter. He gets the case of his career when a call comes on the radio about a school shooting. We are also introduced to Peter a high school student who wakes up for school goes to his computer and is shocked to see something I am yet to find out.And his Mother Lacy who is a Midwife and is having some trouble being happy with her life, even though her husband studies happiness for a living. And lastly Zoe is also a High school student who just wants to kiss a guy with braces. She has to leave class early for a appt but as she's waiting for her mother outside she hears an explosion.
This first chapter is alittle confusing because of all the characters I'm introduced to but I'm sure it will make more sense as I read on.
